The older streets near the rail line are compact lots with narrow drives, front walks straight off the street, and concrete steps that in a lot of cases predate everybody currently living in the house.
Those jobs are detail work. Matching a step riser height, tying a new walk into an old porch, getting a narrow drive to drain toward the street instead of toward the crawl space. Small pours where the finish is all anybody sees.
Drainage toward the house is the thing to check
On older lots the ground has often been regraded two or three times over the decades, by landscaping, by utility work, by a previous owner with a shovel. It is common to find a walk or a drive that now falls gently toward the foundation.
That is worth fixing while the concrete is out rather than pouring a new slab at the same wrong angle. It is the cheapest moment it will ever be.

They then poured the concrete the way it was specified with the higher strength concrete mix. Grading was done very well on a sloped lot and areas of water were identified for the right runoff to ensure longevity and mitigate any erosion. Price was very competitive over other bids.
